I just bought my mpc and got a quick start manual with it. I wanted to see if the demo song would play through the headphones. I follow the instructions in the manual but there is no sound. Any suggegstions? I also just have a flash card and no hard drive. Is that all right for now?

Im new to all of this so my questions might seem dumb, crazy, whatever u call em. Guess whoever had the mpc before me deleted the original demo stuff that was on it. This machine is off the hook and the possibilities are endless.....peace.

yeah, if you got it used there may have been nothing on there. When I got my first MP (2000 classic) there was no sounds at all on there, no demo songs, nothing... so I had to start recording my own sounds on there before I could start playing around. I remember being a little disappointed I couldn't just turn it on and start playing--I actually had to RTFM and hook up some other gear etc., before I could do anything. Tough, but I got over it eventually. j/k

a 'song' contains at least three types of files.

First u have the samples u have to load up, then the program which hold the samples and all it's params and settings.
Then u have to load up the sequence, or the pattern in which ur samples are programed.
