I just have a quick question for all you cable and freak, input / output jack nuts.
I understand the concept of balanced and unbalanced but here is where i'm running into trouble. I'm running a signal from my compressor (left channel mono output) using a balanced (mono) quarter inch cable into the SAMPLE IN of my SP-12 turbo. After i'm finished truncating my drums I then have channel 8 going out using a mono quarter inch going into the SAMPLE IN of my MPC-60 II. I have the MPC-60 II connected to my mixer TAPE IN for monitoring purposes by using the STEREO OUT MIX of the 60. I don't quite understand why but i'm not getting an even signal into the mixer. The MPC-60 is sending out a RIGHT CHANNEL only signal. I thought since the signal in is mono the signal out should be a balanced one even if I am using STEREO MIX out. Is there an alternative to this. I tried MIX OUT of the 60 but am getting no monitoring signal prior to sampling. So while truncating samples in my 60 all I hear now is the RIGHT channel. Yes i did check my cable to make sure it was functioning on both channels and it's not the problem. It's something else. I must be confused somewhere. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated as I sound deaf in one ear. I can send you images of all my connections if that helps getting a visual comprehension.
PS. Sampling SP-12(00) drums into an MPC-60 II sounds absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I recommend everybody get one. hahah
Peace.
