I am going to try to hunt down some Christian vinyl from the 70s, esp. Christian soul. I'm always on the hunt for new samples and this is right up my alley. Who'dve thought?!!! Awesome.

Nanoloop, you're right, more truth did come out of the psychedelic era than is given credit in this post, for damn sure. Think of all the experimentation that went on in 60s psych and definitely into the 70s. This is undeniable.

Wudsiba, that Control movie depressed the hell out of me for about 72 hours after watching it. I don't know if I'd recommend it to anyone...but of course, I highly recommend Joy Division's music to all. Funny how the music some people make can strike millions as relevant/original/groundbreaking while the selfsame musician's life is just a sad pile of poor decisions and tragedy, a hell on earth. I guess this isn't really all that unusual.

It seems like the reason we don't see the same level of truths that were so readily available in the 60s and 70s has a lot to do with the amount of individual and corporate excesses that have become a pillar of Western Society and the United States in particular. Add to that the readily available information through the internet and the signal to noise ratio is just too high.

I have to believe that the knowledge, experimentation and enlightenment are out there, but you have to want it and you have to search for it. Today it is just too easy to be force fed meaningless information from so many sources and be satiated. Rarely does anything meaningful fall in your lap.

Now where is the MPC Philosophy sub forum? Oh yeah... it's off topic :P
