overwrite continuously

is it possible for the overwrite function to work after the whole loop has been played. i want the overwrite recording to be on continuously sso that when im in the groove i dont have to stop and press record again. my piano playing skills are not that great

i want the overwrite function to be on even after the loop point has been reached. because normaly it then just swithes to overdub.

anyone please???

Hi... Not to my knowledge... As far as I know it goes into Overdub and there's isn't a config to change it...

I think the MV 8000/8800 might have a thing called "takes" that allows after the loop,
it starts a new record take and that you can have 8 of them, and you can switch between
any of the 8 takes to see which one you want...

You'd have to check the manual to verify or ask on MVNation...

As indicated, it is possible with the MV8000/8800

with the 4000 it is not.

There are a lot of things that should be possible with the 4000 that aren't. Many of which have been directly requested
of Akai 3-4 years before they discontinued it. Akai chose not to incorporate many things. Now Akai is NuAKai and they are
even less interested in making any changes.

But the 4000 ends up being the one that fits into my Musical Production style the best, so I'm forced to live with it's shortcomings,
just as I live with the shortcomings on my TR 808. Fortunately, both help me make music that I'm satisfied with..


As a workaround. If you dont like what you just recorded. Hit Stop and then Undo Seq and then Try again. That's what I do.

I just now seen this post but the only sequencer that I know of that does this is the Kurzweil's(K2000 and up). It has two different settings for playback and record which will let you loop for playback and record continuously. Hope I helped!

copy and paste your sequence loop 100times and take loop off..

now you can jam over you loop for a long time then just press stop when you find that prefect take,

copy that to a new sequence ..

as far as 4000 shortcomings .. well its still the king sampler/ sequencer box on a professional level, nothing can really touch it,.. the perfect box does not exist yet.. just add vsynth (realtimestrecth) an asr (fx and outs) and some analogue filters and get bussy with the soldering iron..

This k2000 is lookin' better and better by the minute. And the joint is like a decade old.

Well I might be a little too late on this but, you can change record modes on the k2k series. There's a seperate record mode as well as a play mode you can set to either loop or not.

Even though I have a k2500rs, I've never found any use for it's sequencer. Early on when I first got it, I tried messing around with the sequencer but never really stuck around with using it. It's been strictly used for its sounds only.
