Sorry if this has been asked many times before, just don't have time to check it out right now, but what do you guys use to hook a turntable up to your 2000XL?

well, lsten here, really and truly. hmmmm

its like this yo.
first of all turntables are of a different impeadnc to that of line level
the level of an output from your average turntable is 47k ohm. which is the same for input on a phono pre-amp. so you have mismatched iimpe.
also output voltages/
run your decks through a turntable mixer or an amp that has phono in and lineout. then from line out, of the mixer connect to line in on the mpc.

thts it.

i guess he escaped the snake pit 179......

this is a phono preamp. dont plug your turntable rca's directly into your mpc, cuz you will hear nothing...plus mpc's have the 1/4" record ins. buy this and you wont need a turntable mixer. the instructions come with the item.

An advantage of using a DJ mixer between your turntable & MPC is that you can EQ the sound before you sample it.
