That's if I understand it correctly that samples will be able to stream off the card, rather than have to be loaded into ram.

Imagine being able to have 4GB of samples ready to go without having to load them up!

I wasn't aware that computer technology existed allowing one to access digital media without it being loaded into RAM or any other form of temporary memory.

Oh right... it doesn't exist. :)

Guess again.

beat me to it. :D

There was an insignificant update 10 days ago, not sure if anyone noticed. Still an update though.

JUne 20, 2008: Sorry for the lack of updates here. We've made quite a few improvements to the design but waiting on a number of decisions before releasing new information. Please hold your questions and I promise to update this page as soon as those decisions are made. Thanks to all those who sent in suggestions and pre-orders.

not read all this thread so apologies of this has already been clarified, but surely this would indicate sampling functionality?

Yep.. it will sample, and resample... at least that's what I've read and heard via Interviews.

One of the features of the Analog version is to create new drum sounts. You only get 4 Analog Voices.
With the resampling, you can sample the Analog sounds and clear them and create new ones...

Another update:

July 22, 2008: Sorry but we are no longer accepting pre-orders. In truth we only started accepting pre-orders because of the requests, but it's unfair to accept pre-orders without answering questions and we're too busy to both develop the product and also answer the many questions we're received. So please hold your questions and we'll be updating this page as soon as more information is released. Until then, this page contains all the released information. Much thanks to all those who sent in suggestions.

Got dayum. Add sequence looping capabilities of the MV8000 and 3,000 ppqn and you got the G.O.D. drum machine.

Another little update:

December 9, 2008:

Dave and I have been hard at work on the new design of LinnDrum II and now have a better idea of the ship date, which we currently estimate to be during the third quarter of 2009. I wish we could ship sooner but there's still a lot of work to do and it's important to us that we get it right. As a result, we won't be showing it at the NAMM show in January 2009. Thanks so much for your patience. We think it will be worth the wait. Also, many thanks to all who have signed onto the email list and we wish you a very happy holiday season.

excuse me yo. when you say "DAW", do you mean like a software DAW?

I have a feeling this thing won't be that powerful, as far as processing power goes. Hopefully though, they will introduce some good features like they are saying.

Does anyone know how much it'll cost? This might end up being out of reach
for a lot of people. I hope not though.
