MPC500 Start Up Problem

When I turn on the power the display says 'MPC500 Startup' then it flashes 'MPC500 (16 MB). It's stuck, it won't proceed past this screen, this every happened to anyone?

What did you do?

Please advise.

make sure you have full power on the batteries or use a power supply then hold the erase/undo button as you turn on the power, should fix it
