Me too!! It looks so lordy and everything is laid out intuitive with the controllers. I've had an MV8000 and although it had a VGA screen, working with it sucked. Many more coexistant and pro sounding FX in comparison on the MPC 5000.

Oh and I am highly suprised about the quality of the synth. For really deep sub-basses you should stay analog, but in the mid to high frequencies, this synth one sounds AWESOME liquid and vivid! GOOD WORK Akai!!

This is the first "Groovebox" :P Sampler that sounds like a PRO machine and could replace a compuer set up. :)
Just make chromatic keyzone assign automatic, Akai ;)

from a guitar center demo:

i like pad cycle, that's a good idea
i like that they included quantize strength, that saves so much editing
i like the inclusion of a full ADSR envelope

they just NEEEEEEEED a faster way of editing programs. need need need it.

I love the feel of the TC and really love how I can just plug my notation remote keyboard up and work all of the mpc for drums and synth.
I love the screen.
I love that there is 62 note TC

I love the huge internal hard drive..

The mpc5000 is the best mpc ever made hands down..

First of all,i hate ****** talking sht bout 5000,because they don't own one they look at spec and think that's all to it.The only thing that needs to be improved is new os update to give us more features other then that machine is beast.

It's so easy to use workflow A+,i love big screen i love auto chop, but mostly i chop my samples manually anyway its a good option thou.Another one is ARP like dat too sounds batter then my 4k after importing same samples.HD RECORDING it's tite,I can talk all day about it.

MPC 5000 + MOTIF XS 8= HIP-HOP FINNEST

I think the effects on the 5k are better than any other mpc, ive had 2000, 1000 and 4000 and the effects were shit, but the effects on the 5k are really usable. The PEQ is superb

Yes, I fully agree on that. The fxs are dope. Only the reverbs are less usable to my (Lexicon minded) opinion :D

Got mine in the mail this week....
For an MPC it is knda ugly, well mankey looking.
As if its not up to the job.
Everything else 360 blows me away.....
Took me a day to sort out the upgrade to 1.02...
Man the thing is growing on me fast.
I've owned the same the same 2000xl for more than 10yrs, a good little workhorse!!
With the 5000 I believe its like the right machine for the right time.
It got slammed far too early by the critics.
My only negative is that we could do with a nice re-sample function for that nice crunchy 12bit sound.
