which sampler on the market has.....

the most memory?

what i'm looking for is a sampler that allows me to work with longer chunks of audio so i can manipulate them with outboard fx. and i'm trying to get away from the laptop for this.

why not get a digital recorder then? record your tracks and send them throught the signal chain.

sorry, i forgot to mention that i'd like to have basic sequencing functions as well, i.e be able to sequence those big chunks of audio into songs. so i'd just need basic sequencing and editing functions.

what i plan to do is make basic patterns with some variations in the sampler--

run those patterns through outboard fx while 'jamming' on the fx; and record back into the sampler.

then, sequence those jams together into a song.

And out of the group that's listed, the miko & 4k offer high rez sampling as well (24/96).

I heard the Motif ES can have a GB of sample ram. Plus, the effects are pretty straight...

thanks for the responses guys. so what is the max memory for the 1000-- 128? how often do you find yourself needing more?

anyone have experience with sequencing with the SP 404 or 555? is it pretty straight forward? about the jumbo display-- is that where you sequence too? i've only seen photos with the BPM there.
