Midi sample dump using SCSI port

is anyone try to send midi dump thru using SCSI port (like in S2000 / S3000 samplers)

So...let me try to understand this....dumping samples converted to MIDI format through the SCSI port, right?

YEe there's a feature on the S3000 series called "MIDI Via SCSI" lets you do MIDI dumps over the SCSI port. Don't even need/use it tho cuz of apps like Mesa , millenium, samplewrench and about 12 other programs like it, but REGARDLESS...

This is wack, and u can't do it on MPC2000, and even if you could, u wouldn't want to.

just want to ask, because via SCSI uploading multiple samples takes few seconds on my S3000 xl. i would like to have the same comfort in work with MPC 2000 xl

did You ever try to send midi dump? first of all, you can not load more than 1 sample second: you have to name each sample manually, another thing is that sending samples thru regular midi port takes from 3 - 7 minutes each!

with SCSI connection every thing is nice and easy (in case of s3000 xl). i would like to have the same situation in MPC 2000 xl

COME ON! You can connect a SCSI drive directly with multiple times the speed? Why the hassle via MIDI? I mean...C'MON!

let me explain..

i work with external sound editor DSP Quattro. This soft gives me a possibility to send data thru SCSI to sampler and from sampler to computer in few seconds. thanx to this i am able to edit loops, trim samples, process sounds using VST plug-ins and many many more. it works great with S 3000 xl.

it will be really cool to have this possibility in work with MPC 2000 xl.

And why the hell do you think you need MIDI dump for this?

SDMI x fer worked the best, i never actually used it with an mpc though, just a E MU E4XT and it was the fastest method of getting samples into ram from the pc desktop.

Yea i hav and S3000xl too, not that cool of a posiblity, and NO it doesn't work.

Got DSPquattro too, stilo is right, CF all day, fam. YES, it IS technically ONE more step, but it won't slow ur workflow down at all

I wasn't even talking about CF cards...you can transfer data via SCSI directly. I'm beginning to think that's what the OP meant actually...but it doesn't work on the 2000XL.
