"there are differenent methods these days just accept that."
Producers like you (again, no disrespect, it just is what it is) will log onto a website, and listen/download hundreds of songs a month, listen for loops, and simply add drums. Because most people don't dig, they assume you actually made the whole beat, and they say," WOW, YOU MADE THAT??" when all you really did was add a "boom-bap" to a hard to find tune that true diggers are searching for! Once you have 20+ beats like that you sell em cheap. You didn't have to actually BUY the records! You didn't have to waste any gas to drive to a record store. You don't get disappointed because you were 2 minutes late, and the record you really wanted is being bought by someone else..I mean, you probably have MP3's on que to download..you don't care that real heads take this craft seriously, would love to quit their jobs to do this full time, but can't compete with the producers that don't appreciate the craft and charge $20/beat! To producers like this, $20 is a $20 profit, to the rest of us, $20 for a beat that cost me $5 for the album, 5 hours for the search, 5 hours on digging, and a few hours to create, it's a slap in the face.
"Wax on, Wax off!" It's a much needed process just like diggin'. When producers don't care, and rappers see the producers don't care, no one cares. This is the situation we are in today. No one cares, and music today (even with the help of technology) sucks now more than ever! You know I'm not lying! But any "hot" CD today, and I guarantee you will struggle to find 2 really good songs (not including the songs with video's) Rappers "not the Mc's" have turned to downloading songs off Soundclick and Myspace! They don't give a phuck about the producer that made a hot 2 minute beat, and the producers don't give a schyt about their 2 minute beats either. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing..
