what is it about 45's?

just wondering...i dont know what it is about 45s but i just love digging for them/collecting them. does anyone else love diggin for dusty 45s?

Yeah if got 45 game. I think if your a digger and you got 45 game you got a advantage on everybody else.

As much as I love them, I hate having to dig through big piles of them. It's a little less annoying if you pick them up and flip through them that way though.

the only thing I hate is that they are normally neglected but I have come across some dope ones.

Yeah they are usually beat up but i think that adds a little character to them to give them the pops and the hiss.

45s were cheap to make and if you had a group who wanted to test the commercial waters, that was the medium of choice; the chance of finding a rare gem is significantly higher when you deal with 45s.

That's also why a lot of punk bands release their stuff on 45s even today . . .

FUNG 45 is the 45 canadian king..................he got lotsssssssssss

At one point I gave away about 300 45's, and now I'm getting back into it again. I didn't like em before because you can't really scratch with em, but now I'm into the funk/northern soul stuff. The joints you get on 45's are CRAZY! I don't even look for albums anymore.

I've got a couple of really tasty 45s that I picked up for 99p each! Bargoon, I tell thee!

all day long ...it's hard to find good condition ones sometimes, i have scored on a few great collections of some jazz funk ones in the past yrs for like 5 bucks for about 50 records. and i have got some ill ones too


the sound is aittle scratchy at times people sucked cause they didnt take care of them thats a shame.

i got about 5000 or so. i lost count afew yrs ago

No, a record only has ONE groove per side. What you might mean is WIDER grooves. However there is nothing better that a 12" single. It that case you get a much wider groove on both sides & a louder "cleaner" sound.

I wish the US followed Europe when it came to 12"s and went with a 45 RPM standard. They simply sound excellent.
