Can the mpc 4000 direct record like the 2500? if not its gotta go!!!!

What do you mean? It records any sound source, records or resamples itself. I'm confused to what you're asking.

no you cant, but there is a workarround in the newbie bible...
you have to trigger the recording with a midi note f.e. at the beginning at a bar

Can the 4000 resample an entire sequence with the effects running?

Also, if you can resmaple an entire sequence, can you set it to record any/all incoming audio signal?

yeah but you are going to have to bump up that memory and only loading in the programs and samples you need for that session wouldnt hurt

Only a workaround if your going to start your sample on the start of the bar..

With real direct recording it records it into your sequence no matter where you are bar wize.

ok so if i can do a sort of direct record any of you cats wona plz talk me through it. cause i got this bass guitar thats begging to get on a track.
