Hey Producers what's good?
so i am dealing with the mpc and free jjos and it has been a nice Trip so far. but i feel that i waste to much time looking for the sounds i want.
Is there any "quick simple" way or should i just spend some minutes on creating programs for each category, like kicks and stuff?

Peace

in my opinion you should absolutely NOT create separate programs for kicks, snares, etc, as this will prevent you from learning how to play your pads like a drum kit/percussive instrument. creating separate programs for kicks, snares, etc will make you hunt and peck, which is never good. put as many of your drum sounds on one program as possible and play them with your fingertips - this will make you better at performing with your mpc than anything else

get better/more experienced at knowing what sounds you need for your beat before going spelunking into your sample folders

you are not wasting time, you're learning

agree!
and if you make different kits with the same pad assignment (ie kicks always on the same pad and so on), you can easily switch kit for the same rhythm and rapidly try different sounds before you can choose or create the good one for your song.
but beware, do not to stick with the same kits everytime, else you will never go deep into beat creation and you'll be bored quickly, just use this trick to quickly try a beat and see what kind of sound can go with it.
