i thought it would be dope if people who use s3000(xl) started postin their little tips and tricks here.

i'll start.

here's how i chop:

1. record a sample
2. hit EDIT SAMPLE --> ED.3 --> EXEC
3. then adjust the start and end points while triggering the sample with my mpc pad
4. name the new chop
5. hit EXTR

then go back to "start:" and scroll data wheel to the right till the cursor stops moving (that's a start of the new chop)
then i highlight the "end:" and adjust the end of the chop while triggering it with my mpc pad
repeat 4. and 5. steps

this method of choppin is pretty quick once u master these steps.

If ur s3000xl starts saying 'waiting for hard disk' and freezes when you boot it just means the scsi fuse has blown its a common fault n only matters if you use scsi (which i dont).
You can bypass the freeze by putting a floppy disk into the 3000xl before you turn it on, your 3000xl then boots up as normal.
