need akai mpc 2000 screen and effect board

do they only ship to uk? just ask the service for it but they didn't answer. you have to register yourself on this site but the adress option always shows uk area's. you have any experience with that?

No, I live in the US and I sent them an e-mail a couple of weeks ago and never got a reply. I need one of those pad sensors.

thats strange, but i got an other little problem rite now just connected a scsi cdrom drive to my mpc and everytime when i'm tryin' to get the sounds of the cd's my mpc hangs up, you know why? the cdrom thing works fine so it's not broken but do i need any drivers to put on the mpc? or do i have the wrong cables? my zip drive works perfectly but why not the cdrom drive???anybody can help?

This probably should have been a new thread (at least the way I look at threads). ANYWAY, there are no drivers you can put on the MPC. Either it works or it doesn't. Make sure the SCSI ID for the CD-ROM drive is not the same as the SCSI ID for the MPC, or anything else in your SCSI chain. Also make sure that your SCSI chain is properly terminated. Those two resolve about 99% of SCSI problems, though I've heard others on here talk about the SCSI fuse and what not with these MPCs. Again, never an issue for me (I've only used Jaz drives and card readers with my 2K) so I can't speak from experience.

Also, if I remember correctly since I've never done this myself, unless the CD is in the Akai format, your MPC won't be able to read it anyway. If you just want to sample CDs, run the CD player through your mixer or whatever you have attached on the sampling input to your MPC.

There are probably dip switches or something on the back of the CD-ROM drive. You should be able to select at least from 2 different IDs, if not 0-7. The SCSI ID of the MPC is 6 so you can't use that one.

Unless the CD-ROM drive you have is stuck with only one possible SCSI ID, there have to be dip switches, jumpers, something on that drive that allows you to change the SCSI ID. As long as you have the right connector on the MPC side and the CD-ROM side, the cable should not be the problem.

i opened the drive there's a atapi interface where you have some option but only power from p4 to p5 and audio in and out. is it a problem if i have just one scsi id?

i have another little question everytime i start the mpc it always loads samples and programs, is it possible to turn that off. like no samples and programs if you start the mpc?

It sounds like the CD-ROM drive might not be SCSI. If it is SCSI but only has ID 6, yeah, that's a problem as you would have a SCSI ID conflict.

As far as your other question, I'm not sure how to turn that off. I've always just loaded what I needed after my MPC booted up, and its never been enough of a problem for me to find a solution. If you figure it/find out, let me know.

If it is scsi (it must be if it fit on the cable) I has to have jumper pins. There is no scsi device with only one if setting, because it would defeat the purpose of scsi unless there is some sort of cable select mode for scsi that I dont know about, but even then there would be a jumper to set it on that mode.

Is it possible you missed what you were supposed to be looking for? What you are trying to locate are two rows of very small little metal pins (needle looking things about 1/8th of an inch long sticking outward) usually the pins are gold in colour. It isn't actually a switch.

anyone uses zip drive? cause im thinkin about buyin a 750mb zip drive

just got my screen for few days (250€) today i looked thru the internet and found this http://www.plccenter.com/buy/GENERIC+DISPLAY/KS110 is that an akai screen? cause the model number of the mpc 2000 screen is ks-110 or s-11114b, and it's only 82,50$. would be cool if somebody can help me out
