NEW 2 DA 500

hey. i just got my 500 a few days ago. i'm a newbie. got a question about setting programs/loading sounds. please help.
i've loaded a few sounds into memory to try it out. i can audition them & assign them to pads but when i go to make a beat, i don't hear anything. what am i doing wrong here?

yes, i've bought the tutorial but i'm getting it sent here in iraq so i'm hurting for info. thanks.

After loading the samples in the 500, create a new program within Program mode, while in this mode assign the samples to the pads by scrolling to Assign Samples. In that section simply pound the pad where you want the sample, put the cursor on the blank area at the bottom screen and then scroll through your samples. When you got the desired sample in the desired pad, hit another pad and scroll a new sample to it then repeat until you got your band in check. Don't listen to the guy downstairs he's real brand new to the 500. Be sure to save it in Save all samples and program in Save mode.

i had this problem when i first got my mpc 500 man

i could press play hear them, and even load them into the pads but when i make the sequence i heard nothing...

i made sure the full level button was on, no mutes etc, and still i couldnt figure it out

so all i did was turn it off, turn it on while holding the undo button, and it loaded all the settings back to the original so i could atleast hear the sounds now.. try her out
