that ver first reply sound interesting. I think Ill try that shit tonight. Im learning on a fender precision bass guitar so I do my bass live but Im not up to par with the amateurs so Imma try that filtered shit then putting another bass on top.

Has anyone here ever ran there turntable thru a Mixing Console to Filter to
out the low Frequency they want to sample?? Say a mackie 1604 VLZ Pro or any console for that matter???

i am always high passing stuff...you would be surpirsed how many different musical elements will benefit from a bit of high passs filtereing...all of them except bass and bass drums.....
i even high pass (albeit gently) my whole mix at around 40hz.....

ive tryed eq-ing prior to sampling in the vestax dj mixer (2band mixer), mackie dfx6 mixer (5 band eq) and i think the filters in the my 4k beat them all.
1st reason is cos there's less noise cos less equip in the chain and 2nd i like the eq in the fx section when recording and i polish everything in the multitracker eq as a final filtering touch.
works fine for me, but using synth base is a different story alltogether. its as if filtered bass and synth bass are different instruments and can not be compared.
love using soft synth bass sometimes (b-52, subtractor,etc..). depends on the track. whatever gets ur adrenaline boiling and makes u jump around the room like a lunatic.
