Anyone paint the mpc1000 yet ?

if it works outta the box and I dont leave it on for 6 months straight and it overheats I think my waranty is kinda useless anyways.

well unless I drop my mpc in the snow I dont think I will **** it up.

i saw that of your painted MPC1000. ive been tryin to do the same to mine. what kind of paint did u use? have u noticed it chipping or fading at all?

doh, i just read your post under the pix. heh, nevermind the questions.

if you use a plastic Primer you can use basicly any type of paint that you want on it. just make sure you sand down the sides a little before you paint

they make specific paint for plastic patio furniture. the plastic primer works as well.

the brand I bought was from Revy (I am from canada) but I am sure you can get something very similar at Home depot. It was a brand called excel. It has a bit of a texture to it. I looked at the krylon which looked alright as well (trusted brand from years of spray painting) but I had used it to paint my patio table and the stuff just didnt chip off of that so I figured excel would be my best bet.

remember to apply a few light coats to it. laying it on thick will cause drips and also be easier for it to chip/scratch.

No preparation at all then? I was thinking of putting on a primer coat of paint then having my artist friend paint it up.

if you are going to use anything other than specific plastic paint then yes you will need a coat of PLASTIC primer.

if you dont you will get chips galore.

if you use plastic paint then you dont need the primer coat.

arite if you want to use spray paint i would either use krylon fusion which id specially for plastic or montana hardcore or belton cause they are the illest of paints.... has anyone figured a way to get the rec and overdub buttons out so that they can be painted?

you would have to create a stencil I bet that would be fun.

anyone who has used stencils before knows what I mean... the splatter and the sketchiness would drive you mad!
