I have a string sample that I had chopped up. I want to be able to create a program on my MPC 2500 so that i can play that string sample on the keys. I know on the 2000xl you go to Shift--Program--Auto
What do you do on the MPC 2500?

go to akaipro.com and download the manual addendums for the mpc2500 - autochromatic assignment was added with a later os and so there is no mention of it in the original owners manual...

an auto chromatic program is just a DRUM program with the same sample put on every pad and tuned chromatically across the different pads. this is the same PGM type as a DRUM pgm, AUTOCHROMATIC just takes the effort out of tuning sh!t

an INST pgm aka KEYGROUP is a single sample stretched across a range of notes, which the pads play. again, this too takes the effort out of tuning sh!t.

AUTO CHROMATIC exists basically to emulate INST pgms.
