I have a major problem with my MPC 1000

It will just play sounds from the currently loaded program at random! It's as if the pads are being pressed, but they aren't! Sometimes it will randomly play many sounds back to back and sometimes it won't play a random sound for 15 minutes or so.I have the black 1000, I bought it new not even a year ago. It has not been dropped or anything crazy like that. It just randomly started doing this one day and has continued to do so. I am using JJ OS v3.08, I have tried loading a different OS but the problem still occurs. Has this happened to anyone? I really need help with this issue. I am open for any suggestions. Thanks alot!

Sounds like a pad sensor issue. You should try sending it to Akai under warranty.

What if this were not an option? Any other suggestions? Would it be bad to take it somewhere local and have them look at the problem?
