Let every other company out there....they wil release products and operating systems when they feel ready to. As far as the "old" Akai letting people beta test operating systems and keeping them in the loop...what products are you talking about? And not too long ago, we had beta testers and forum members that work for the "new" Akai frequent these forums...but they didn't receive a warm reception so I don't blame them for not coming around much anymore.

Winter NAMM 2009 is the place to be for the latest news and about what Akai Professional's development team has been cooking up. Watch this space for detailed news, pictures and videos when the show floor opens January 15, 2009.

Can you smeeeeeeell what Akai is cooking? :D

As I promised: My MPC is on it's way back to Akai. No OS Update until Christmas, no more Onkobu rocking the pads. I returned to the classics and will buy a new laptop running Ubuntu Studio...way bigger screen, much more midi outs (8 outs, 8 ins...USB connected) and there's even money left for an external midi controller.

Hmm, let me guess...some pu$$y  Nah, let me stop playing, but last years' namm product wasn't the fire you thought it was, eh? Man, you live for these things every year. And after that years' flaws are exposed, you'll be waiting for NAMM 2010 and beyond.

You are never completely satisfied with with anything. Well, I'll take that last one back, but with Akai, they never deliver that climaxed plateau you're after in an all in one product. Maybe they'll deliver this year...

Last year's Namm product? The MPC 5000? If I wasn't using the MPC 5000 what would I use? The MPC 4000/2500 or MV-8800? Those are always options, but I have what I need in the 5K. And yes, like so many others...I look forward to Namm every year..so do you so stop fronting. I am not looking for an all-in-one product. But I am looking for the ultimate MPC. Take a look at the feature request thread. That is exactly what I am looking for. So far, the MPC 5K is the closest to this dream MPC.
