how to set the pads velocity?

It's really really simple, do you still have the manual for your unit? If not you can download it from the akai website. see page 79-80.

amp velocity is in program mode somewhere but i don't remember what old program mode looks like/what's where so i tell you in exactly what page it is.

yes i'm just trying to achieving a more natural response.. because now seems that if i play soft sounds too soft and if i play a little bit harder sounds much harder..

Sounds like you have Full Level turned off. Hit the Full Level button right under the Bank A button on the upper right. Other wise, to set actually velocity of the pad, I would say adjust pad sensitivity under mode, other (pad 10), pad (F4). Though this may only adjust at what point the pad is activated, not how loud the sound plays at a given pressure..

no... well. usually velocity control allow to choose if you want limit the soft hits.. if you play too soft the sound is too soft that can't be heard, or sounds strange... so usually i set that in a way that if i play too soft sound say at 60 of velocity.. and the dynamics goes from 60 to 127..

in the mpc i can choose that a sound plays in the 60/127 range.. but under 60 it doesn't play.. and that is done to select another sample that plays in the 0/60 range.

in the velocity pad setting i can choose a value sensitivity.. that seems limit the louder hit.. if you use it at 20 than if you play loud sounds the same than if you play really loud.. and if you set this at 1 and you play really loud you don't arrive to 127 .. so i set it at 5.. that seems good because i tend to hit hard the pads..

but i still can't limit the too soft passage.. i'm now used to not play to soft.. but if i would like.. i can't limit the too soft passage..

than i haven't understood what changes between the A-B-C-D algorithm.. i just found out that with C is much more difficult to me to play.. but i don't understood what happen..

i hope you have understood better what i'm asking..and what i'm looking for.

I see. If you hit Mode, Program (pad 7), and F1, there is a range field all the way to the right of the screen. It's defaulted to 0-127 for each of the 4 sounds you can assign to a pad. That's not what you are looking for?

no.. isn't that.. if you put 60-127 your sound will play between 60 and 127 but if you hit under 60 it will not play..

i meant if i play at 37 i want it sounds at 60 .. if i play at 21 i want it sound at 60.. if i do what you say and i play at 21 it will not play.

that feature is done to use more sounds in a pad and assign them to different dynamic ranges.

it is in your manual. it's also in program mode somewhere. velocity to amp envelope. i know exactly where it is in jjos but i've forgotten where it is in akai os. you should look until you find it.

work your way to this screen by entering GPE (mode pad 11) and hitting WINDOW over the ATK or DCY column.

you want VELO>LVL. 100=full level, 0 equals full velocity range. jjos2/2xl default is 50. you'll know what to do.
