I need those black pads. How do they feel? Thats the only reason why I havent copped the black pads cuz for some reason I feel like they are gonna be a wack quality.

the black pads are identical to the grey ones, they are both akai OEM products...

I only used it for about an hour last night. But from what I noticed while using one in Japan, it just feels more solid when hitting the pads. It's definitely much faster. Can't really comment on any difference in sound yet.

The ones on my XL didn't feel OEM at all. They feel much better now that they are more worn in. I used to have to hit the pads much harder than I did with the stock gray ones. They also have a grayish color to them if you notice. They've always been like that, it's not dirt. The ones on the 2500 are like pitch black and feel completely OEM and are very sensitive right out the box. Don't know why they felt so different. Either way, both are well worth the mere $28.

the thing is, the pads actually come in three colours... black, grey and graphite.

the dark grey you are referring to on your xl are the graphite pads, so maybe they are different to the black nd grey pads. dunno...

Oh, I didn't know that. Good to know! I ordered black though. Not a big deal. Still looks good to me. I tried coming up with something for the 2500, but couldn't figure anything out. I won't do anything until I am satisfied with the design.

Nah, I bought everything last week so it would be ready by the time I got the MPC. I put the knobs and data wheel on when I installed the pads. I still need to get another black and red record knob like I have on my XL. I don't know where to get black play buttons from though.

nope but juno 60 and 106 user here

Man I would take a 60 over any synth man... for some reason I dont like how Roland keeps milking the juno cow

The juno g has mad sounds though. So many I haven't even found a use for all of them. The extra filters and doo-hickeys come in handy also. 4 tracks of audio, you can hook a guitar up direct too. All for little under a G. Couple that with an MPC and you're talking dangerous. I like it. Kind of a steep learning curve. Can't really say I've mastered it yet.

Good point on the juno cow though. They just recently dropped a Juno Stage. After copping a Juno G, I don't really see the need to buy a another keyboard. I'll just freak the SRX expansions.

Maybe it's his xl case or the camera, but they just look like some faded black pads to me cause here's the dark grey one's.

So, finally that's my little music room! :D

After months of collecting gear, thinking, re-thinking and setting up cable connections I finally finished my hardware only dream! It's very flexible. I can root everything to everything - audio and MIDI-wise! Enjoy!
