Mixer + Turntable

hello,

i have a couple of questions and i'm not sure what to do. it would be great if you could give me some advice.

i'm planning to get a mixer and a turntable, because i want to sample off vinyl to the mpc 2000. is a mixer really necessary for that? i don't have enough money to buy a mackie or technics, so i think about buying this mixer: http://www.n-joymusic.nl/omnitronic-hrs ... 44770.html and a Stanton T-50. alternatively i could afford a behrinmger xenyx 802 or a alto amx-80. is it possible to record all 8 outs with those mixers to pc? which one would be the best choice, or do you have other low budget recommendations?

Very hard for me to recommend something in that budget range...

You don't really need a mixer for a turntable, you need a preamp. Mixers and audio interfaces (not all) have preamps. You can also just get a dedicated preamp...

Further, I'd go used maybe if you're on a tight budget instead of new (and prolly crap gear as it's so cheap) gear...

Honestly if its just for sampling its not like you need the most high tech expensive shit...

If you wanna scratch, well, make sure to get the correct type of recordplayer for starters.

I'm using the 1 that's a bit slow to pick up.. But its really not as bad as some people make it out to be. It still picks up pretty quick for a rem-driven player. I think most people would prefer direct drive / magnetic 1s (dont hang me up on this.. Can't remember the correct terms 100%.

But ReckOne's got a point. Why get a mixer when all you really need is a amp if the recordplayer doesn't have 1 built-in.

all u need is a DJ mixer, a record player and an mpc.
you should be able to find a dj mixer and turntable (for sampling only) for $200+/-.

my old recordplayer is about 7 years old i don't think it has a pre amp. i don't know at ebay there are a lot of new pre amps around 20 €, but maybe it is better to get a new recordplayer/turntable. what do you think about the stanton t-50, is this a good choice for a beginner like me? it should have that pre amp...

i'm looking for a mixer because i want to use the 8 outs of my mpc. for 30 € i could get the behringer 802, but i've heard that many people are not happy with this mixer. what do you think? does anybody use it or those other cheap mixers like alto amx-80 or OMNITRONIC HRS-802 ?

one last question: is it true that you can go straight to the record ins of the mpc with a Numark PT 01, so you dont need a pre amp or a mixer?

not sure. have u checked the numark website? do they advertise the pt01 as a turntable with a built in preamp?

if its a portable turntable, then it would be safe to assume that.....................
