Ya everybody ,
I did not figure out how the direct record mode worked.
I'v checked it out in the manual so I plug my microphone to one of the inputs and it doesnt recognise any sound in the record mode.
I can sample cd with no problems so it must be something to do with my microphone .
It's a PErception 200 .
If someone could explain thanks. PEACE

it probably needs a pre amp to get the levels up. try running it through your mixing desk or dj mixer if you have one.

if's a large condensor mic you 'll also need phantom power.

On the main screen, cursor down to 'type:Drum/midi', press window and turn direct record mode on.

I think that's how its done, I'm on JJOS now so it's been a while since I used direct record. Search youtube, you'll find tutorials on direct record

You mean JJOS. Direct record is one of the features JJOS drops. If you have JJOS you wont be able to use direct record. You need to re install Akai OS:

www.akaipro.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/1115/tt/5

But for what it's worth, learn to work around it. JJOS craps all over Akai OS as you will learn.
