Locate feature

Ok so i just picked up a 2500 and am trying to use the locate feature....When in the main page, i press the (Go To) button but the Go To window does not come up. Am i doing something wrong or do I have a broken button? Also one more question. Simple one about contrast. When in the main page i press shift and turn the data wheel and the contrast does not change...I see 1-60 come up under F3 and 61-64 come up under F4 but nothing to do with contrast...whats up with that? Can anyone help? Thanks

is your mpc new or used? do you know what operating system is on there?
if it is the akai os you can find out the version by hitting pad 10 and then looking at the srceens.
if you have another os installed you probably should ask in the other forum.

my mpc is used...just bought it. the OS is version 3.08. does it sound like something it broken with the Locate feature?

That's JJOS free.

so what does that mean about the locate feature and go to button and contrast adjustment?

Means the manual that came with the machine may not be accurate for those features since you aren't using an Akai OS. You need to go into the MPC2500 JJOS section, go to the JJOS site, and look for the manual for JJOS 3.08.

JJ OS behaves slightly differently from the Akai OS, and he took away the Locate feature if I remember correctly.
