EFFECTS ERROR

I have a white mpc4k and I'm having the same issue. WTF...

My background is in PC troubleshooting/repair at the component level (ic's caps resistors etc). I work for a large company doing enterprise server repair.

I wish I had some good news here but I don't. I pulled my 4k apart, all of it down to the chassis, inspected all the caps etc, and it shows no signs of any issues (bad solders, leaky caps).

I also removed the fx board and still to no avail get the same errors. The fx board looks just as good.

Looks like it's time to deal with VST, or just sell this one off. Everything else works just fine.

Good news, err.... something like that... It's time to get an 8 out board and start runing external effects they sound better and don't crash anyway.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After troubleshooting this thing for a day and talking with the techs at VST. I ended up ordering a replacement effects card ($119 on a wing and a prayer). It got here this morning.

I had to work all day and I've been teething at the bit all day to get this thing in.

Finally the moment of truth.

IT WORKED!!!! No longer get that error when trying to access any of the effects. QFX screen works now too.

Hopefully this will bring some closure to your problem. Machine is rock solid once again.
