option to sample as wav instead of snd?

hello again.

another stupid question for you.

I'm sure i remember when i first got my MPC 2000xl that you could choose to sample as wav rather than snd, which saves me converting it on my comp, but for the life of me i can't remember how to do it.

I've checked the manual.

please lemme know asap, because i just copped an external floppy drive today and i'm anxious to start editing sounds on my laptop.

No I don't believe you can, you can choose when you save wether to save it as a SND or as a WAV

If you want to edit sounds on your laptop why not sample into your laptop, chop, edit whatever and they save your .wav to the floppy?

save all pgms and sounds > save as wave...
