Anyone feel like lettin the hacker get his hands on it?

I need a cheap donor system for testin the new CPU's and crap..........

I'm watching, if you see EMCEE.ENT bid on it that's me. :)

peace

BTW: No doubt.... version 1.75a ? Maybe ? That could be interesting.

Many companies (At least in software development) number versions based on implementations.

Such as:

Version 1.1, implimented memory dump

Version 1.2, implemented erase in fw write

whatever........

It is possible to have a higher version of OS than what was ever released, cause they may have had some features there that were above what was released cause they were causing problems or were buggy, therefore they reverted to a.4 or 1.74 or whatever.

maybe a dumb question, I've never felt the need for this to date (I use a RS7000 and the MPC4K together), but will it Burn CD's? I didn't think so. Dude said it burns CDR's...... maybe a 1.75a feature?

How difficult is it really, to get the OS for this? Has anyone even started a serious hunt? It's probably not worth it to most of you, but with enough work, you could find the old programmers for this unit. 6.5 billion people, really isn't that much.

nope. you cannot get the prototype OS. I guarantee it. Programmers dont own the code. Akai does, and there is no way in hell it will ever be released without someone payinbg some serious hell for it. I'd go into more detail but I'm in a dope ass session with EMS and he says Music Tech can bet their students life he's gonna eat the industry Alive with the RS7K and Blow Torch,

Yeah Biznatches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Well, ok, maybe it could be found, or decompiled or some crap, but I very much doubt it.

update: EMS is out burning MPLS to the ground..... heh ehe hehehe

Its been able to do this for a while now. Its in one of the addendums. I'm pretty sure you can only burn to disk what is in memory though, you can't make an audio CD. I've never bothered to use the feature. I don't see the point when you can easily backup straight to your computer or an external drive.

Yes, there was a lot of movement regarding this on here that got nowhere. You'd prob need to buy the company to have a shot at this point.
