Brian, If you want to try your hand at the cover, that would be great.
If you want to be in charge of the whole deal, have at it. I'll help as much as you (or whoever) want me too, I'd even be willing on producing the whole thing like I proposed the first time around, interludes and fluid track movement.

Things that need to be done:

New Thread
Collecting tracks
Gathering ideas for end result
Photoshop
Choosing what stays and what goes
Making a tracklist
Making the tracks flow from one to the other
Promotion

Take it away, whoever wants it.
I can do any of those tasks that I listed except for photoshop, and I would like to try my hand at making all of the tracks flow, and creating interludes if noone has a problem with that. Like putting the tracks together as one long beat-matched track and then chopping it into the tracks.
But if someone wants to get the ball rolling again for this mixtape, go for it. I have dozens of tracks that I can submit, so give me someone to submit them to.

Word up, I'm gonna get started on trying the cover when I get home later today. I'll post it in a new thread If I can get it to look good. I'll make a beat or 2 for it, and I know a few forums that would dig it so we could spread it around fairly easily to a small audience at least.

I love that ''f*** clearing samples'' attitude ssnedden, now we can explode and get sick. What I mean by masterpiece is your peak performance now, if you get better after the cd is released dont sweat it, we'll make a part 2. And if only five people got the nutsacks to make the cd then buck it. We'll do a 5 Deadly Venom gig and showcase each man's style. I got shiii, give me a snail mail direction because I do all my posts thru a cel-phone.

just found this thread, post,... whutever u call it... how's it workin out? let me know if anything is worked out, I'll donate a beat for the cause (which seems to be 500 credibility which will only ever truly be achieved by having a major name w/ a major track release plug the 500) yea umm... it'll happen maybe, but I'll still pass a beat on for the mix tape... drop those details on track submission...peace

PM me with a link. Thanks for the help. I don't want to stall so I'll take submissions and be in charge until someone makes a new thread.

About this "cause" - not to sound arrogant, but I am willing to donate about 1/3 of what it would take to put out a really good instrumental-based mixtape. Anyone out there rockin a 500 got some heat to match me? Anyone want to collab for this?
I think in the original, older post in this thread I said I wanted beats made just for this mixtape, now I think we should use anything we've got as long as it was made on a 500. Lets do this, people.

Before I hand in my stuff I want to be clear on the rules. It has to be straight from the 500? Like connecting the 500 directly to a cd-recorder or we can use a multitrack or ProTools?

What ever questions you got, don't fear to ask so we can speed you up to send a submission.

Seeing how slowly this is moving, we haven't set a deadline yet.

Take all the time you want, just keep me posted with a "workin on something for the mixtape" type thing so I can plan out how many submissions we're going to get.

Like Ill-Green said, ask away so we can get this moving, the sooner the better - as far as submissions go

thanks for your interest

How about if we all rip the same songs?

Like a beat battle.

That way we dont have to feel weird about exposing any top secret heat because we'll only use the same tools.

I think it would be an even more enlightening experience to compare how we all aproach the same source material.

I stole this idea from one of those sample websites (cant recall the name right now), but I think it would fit this project just fine.

I propose that the OP pick the tracks that we'll work with.

I also suggest that two eclectic yet contrasting tracks would offer plenty of options.
And then we make the chosen tracks available to all the participants.

Hey ssnedden, i emailed you my beats awhile back. I haven't used them for anything and i'd still love to put 1 or both of them on the tape.

Foreward: I just got back from new year's celebrations and I'm sh!tfaced.

Backwardszero: If we get enough contributions to make a final project (at this rate, we won't) then I'll use your stuff, although you'll have to resend them to me (along with anything else you want to submit). If we don't get a few more contributions then I wouldn't know what to do with them and they would remain unused. So far only 1 person has sent me something since the thread has been revitalized, and before that only you and one other person did. I'd love to get this project going again, and I'd even spearhead this project like I said I wouldn't, now that I see I'll have to.

[email protected] send me your beats if you want to be part of this project. Everybody.

Robthom: I'm down for that too, but that's a different idea. You can make a thread, or if you or noone else does, then I will. I would be all for it though. I like the idea of picking 2 completely different tracks to increase the amount of tools we have. Would you guys rather make it a battle or a showcase? After seeing the response from this thread, I have the feeling that a battle would be a little too intimidating for most, although I'd be down.
