My thoughts exactly,
If you were A+ Certified You'd know a FLoppy Cable is NOT THE SAME as an IDE CABLE
you'd Also realize that some IDE Cables have a Key-Pin Blocked to help the user orient the cable, the solution for this is Modify the cable by melting a hole in the cable-Plug with a Paperclip, or just Get a different Cable.
but then again connecting an IDE cable to a floppy drive should be physically impossible anyways so I dunno what you're trying to do here except break your MPC.

No pulling of pins or anything.
Just take the computer floppy cable AND floppy, and swap them to your mpc. SCSI has nothing to do with this
floppy swap.
Also the floppy has a power connecter and power cable already on the wkxl motherboard, use that for floppy power...
