Some of the samples that I load will only play at full volocity. Not all, just some. I have tried to reload the OS holding the erase button, as suggested for a few other problems, but I still can't find a way around this. Anyone else have this problem?

yes i do! i just upgraded from os 2 and all of my samples play at full velocity no matter what i try. i have messed with the pad sensitivity, i tried 16 levels>velocity but they all play at full velocity..

I'm still having problems with some of the programs I have... I have to reload all of my Roland TR samples and build new programs from scratch, but I'm alright with it. The main thing I'm missing now, is the tune option in pattern editing. As well as the older style analog editing using the pads as 16th notes in a bar. I don't know if I'm overlooking things, but it seems like a lot more was pulled from version 2 than I originally thought. I've decided to just go back and fourth between the two programs. I just need to be sure to mark any project I make with the OS that was used to make it. Good luck.

"Noooooooooooooo!!!!"
Are you sure it's gone? Writing sequences with the pads was THE thing for me in os2. IMO this editing mode should be expanded, not removed!
I dreamt of being able to adjust eg. velo/cut with qlink sliders after writing the note by pressing pad in this edit mode....

Yeah, it's gone. Deffinately one of my favorite ways to sequence. I really wanted, and requested a few times, to have a TAP button added. This would make it a lot like older 808 style sequencing where you could add whatever sound you were curently adding by hitting the tap button and the sound would be inserted in the sequence. Not a big deal by any means. I just thought it would really give you the feel of working with these older machines. It didn't seem to gather much interest, and I imagine with the new XL version and the pattern loop being removed, that adding anything will no longer happen. The good thing is, you can always save projects and mark at the end whatever OS version you used to make each one. That way you can just load the OS version then the project. So you basically have the option of switching between OS systems almost as fast as loading a project. Good luck...

One thing I'm really looking for is a way to switch the velocity sensativity back on in ver. 2 XL. Some of the programs that I have from version 2 load up just fine, and others are at full velocity. You can rebuild the program by reloading all of the original samples and building a new program, but this is a lot of work if it is not required. If there is a simple setting in the program mode or somewhere else that would reactivate the velocity, I really want to find it... If anyone finds something like this, please let me know.

Sorry for the late reply. Paid for XL but use OS2 because I find it too buggy.

Anyway press MODE + Program
Goto Velocity Column
Hold shift and press all
Bring Velocity down to zero

Hope this helps.

I also had a problem with the 16 level. I apply the 16 level on a pad, then returned to the main page, then done something else (can't remember it sorry) and the 16 levels didn't work at all (no sound). So I stopped the 16 level mode and the pad of the sound I wanted to use, didn't make any sound. I had to assign the pad to the sound again.
Tried it after with other pads, and done the same bug.
