MPC1000 Song = MP3 format

Hey, I just wanna know how I would go about converting a song on my MPC to MP3 format. Also, how to sync my MPC to Logic Express 8 so I can bounce the track... if anyone has any useful information please share, Thanks.

You could use Sound Forge, the lame encoder, iTunes, etc... to convert a .wav file to an .mp3.

I personally use Sound Grinder (which uses Lame), but that's on the Mac.

Thanks, I work on my mac too, I use Audacity and Logic Express 8...I know that sequences on the MPC are made up of recorded MIDI data, but I am trying to figure out how to get that MIDI data from the tracks within the sequences and combine them into a mix down of the entire song into MP3 format. I don't know if thats clear enough, but I tried.

In song mode, you could string your sequences together to produce a song, and then there is an option to record the sequence to a wav file. Or self sample from master outs.

any other help for, MPC files exported into mp3 or wav?

JahmB, listen ... you need to spend a little time reading the User Manual for the MPC1000. It is a little illogical in it's layout, but it does contain all that you need to understand these basic features.

Here is a 'head's up' for you - just this once, though ! Have a peep at Page 51 of the manual ( I think that's the one you need ).

People on here will get the hump with you if you don't read through the manual before posting obvious questions. I too am very new to the MPC1000, having got myself a decent unit just before Xmas. However, before I went about even turning the machine on, I spent a day reading through the manual. I then re-read it whilst going through some practical stuff with the unit on. Much of the basic functions are fairly easy to get to grips with and you will possibly find this to be the case too, once you have spent a little time with the manual in front of you ... just put the time into reading it and you will be rewarded with a solid intro to the functions which you are now asking about.

These guys on here are incredibly knowledgeable about the MPC family and they can really help you immensly, but, like Lampdog often says, 'READ THE DAMN MANUAL!!' .... then come back to them for the detailed help afterwards ... they'll appreciate that you are not asking obvious questions, info for which is already stated and easily available.

First go into song mode and put all your sequences in the order you want then to play.
(Most songs are about 100 bars that = 4 min)

Then when your done making your song hit CONVERT
This will make the long song one long sequence on the main screen.

Then go to then main screen and go to the new sequence you just made.

Now your ready to bounce it.

Go to Mode Record and set the sample input to MAIN OUT
Now Hit record then play your sequence.

While you song/sequence is playing it is sampling into the mpc.

When the song is done playing name it & save it on to your CF card..

Now all you have to do it USB your MPC to PC and drag the song to your PC .

From there you can burn it to cd,or load a audio editor and convert it to a mp3..
