non destructive chopping

you can trigger different sections of the sample or "chops" without having to extract the sections into different samples.

1 sample, multiple chops.

i imagine this speeds up the chopping process a lot...

you can be a little looser with your chops and adjust as necessary

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I'm just wondering if someone could explain how to do this in simple terms with JJ OS2, I can't figure it out.

Does the samples have to be divided into 32? How do I map the chops out to a program?

No you can have from 1 to 32 chops across banks A and B. You can chop in Non Destructive mode using Auto, and Slice (manually setting how many slices to use). When all is done hit the NewPrg (F6) button and a new program will be created using your chops. Very efficient and fast.

hi does any one know if this is possible on the 2500 with jjos 3.10?

You need OS2 or XL for NDC.

It's one of a few killer features that make the payed version well worth the money.

cheers coz looks like im getting os2 or 2xl then- all spent up for this month, roll on pay day.
iv bin looking at the jjos comparison chart on the jj site. and searching about it on here.
im leaning towards os2 at the moment.

I bought XL and have used it exclusively ever since, and there's nothing in os2 to tempt me to switch.

It always sounds like I'm on non D chopping's dick both on here and my friends who haven't upgraded but there are 3 ways I use this and I could never go back, 1. is chopping drums very very fast, 2. is you make the beat, then go into non d chop and flow over the beat while adjusting your chops, and number 3 it's really cool for making experimental beats like talking tiny bits of snares and kicks then a bit just before the kick etc, I'll def fire a a vid up on youtube in the next 3 days that will prob show most reasons why it's such a worthy feature.
