:D Found em. They are discontinued, but..... I found 145 of them.

Same catch as screens tho,

Preliminary quote by the provider of $40 each. So for 145 that's like $5800

Ummm.... Again, I can organize a bulk purchase, but I really think we'd have to hit 20 minimum to see a fair price,

but this one may be pointless unless I can really negotiate em, cause weren't they sellin at MPC Stuff and VST for $75?

The price we'd get on a small order (Under 100 pcs) would probably be about the same anyway..... SOoooo?????

Hmmmm

Same thing as screens I guess, Chime in and I'll see what we can do but it might not go as well as with the screens.

They also gave me a reproduction price, for them to fire up and make em, but that's orders of 1000's. Pointless.

Let me know if you're interested and when enough interest is there for a price y'all are cool with I'll buy em and put em on Ebay.

gotta know there will be enough people ready to buy so I get a quick return. I'll keep monitoring this thread, and updating this first post.

If I listed your request incorrectly, please correct me.

I will contact them and see what they say.
As with the screens tho, they don't seem too interested in small quantity.
I'll update when I get more info.

You know what....? Any way we can make these two, Screens for $72 and Pad Sensors for $40 temporary stickies so they'll be easier to keep track of?

Then I can edit my first post in the thread to be more consice and list people and quantity so we can all see where we're at?

heh heh
so on.....

Or maybe even just a 'PARTS' or 'SOURCES' spot on the home page? Might get a little tricky keepin track of this in 3 places?

What other MPC's will it work in? I don't know, but is it the same as those in the 60's and 2500's, 5000's, etc????

seems like it'd be a lot of posting, almost overposting..... Yo LAMP! Can I get my status customized to 'Amateur Guru' or 'Overposting Guru' heh heh

Lamp, whuddya think. Where best to post this in one place?

Just out of curiosity. Lets say you have you get 145 people that want one. How are you going to do this transaction? You going to set up a paypal account? or you want cash only?

Sorry guys, I but I am seeing this set up as a big scam that will never happen.

Good luck though.

Hmmmm, well, let's say we get enough for say $1000 or $1500, it might take me a month, but I'll front it and one at a time you can buy them from me?

Whatever, it's $40 (Or whatever, shouldn'ta said $40, small quantity will definitely be more) each. One person can buy one and let you guys know I'm not janky.......

That'd be fine by me cause if you guys don't buy em or whatever I'll just put em on Ebay! Yezzir!

Works for me, not sure how the math will work, but let's say we have 25 people at $60 that's $1500, I can do that.

Or whatever. I don't know yet what they'll cost, it depends on quantity. I'll shoot em an email and see what they say for 25.

Works for me. Price will be a little higher to cover my Paypal fees.

Keep chiming in to let me know how many are wanting them, and when enough come thru I'll buy em n put em on Ebay.

Gotta know there's gonna be a quick return. :D

well you count me in for TWO sensors and ONE screen.

I think better way for you is to buy them bulk and put em on ebay.
With a surcharge for your paypal fees or shiping.
I mean everybody will buy, who wants to pay $200+ on vst?

The question i have is, are those sensors from the same manufacturer as the original ones?
Or is it a company that re - makes them?
That is the first thing that you ll have to make sure of. Personnaly i dont want to buy anything thats not "original" for my machine. especially the sensors. And when i say original i mean the same as the one that it has IN it.

As far as other mpcs, sensors are the same for MPC 2000, MPC 2000XL MPC 4000, MPC 3000.
So maybe you should post on the other forum categories too!

Same thing as the deal with the screen. When a manufacturer has a product they make OEM for a company (O.riginal E.quipment M.anufacturer) and it gets discontinued, they call it an EOL part (E.nd O.f L.ine) and sell the equipment and specs to manufacture it to companies elsewhere, mainly China. Akai doesn't make every component, they design it and shop the components out to the cheapest bidder. This product is the same exact thing as the one in your machine, the 145 are still of the origional runs from the company overseas that were used in the later production models.

Honestly, I know I'm on here a lot lately, but it's cause I'm able to find these things as I'm doing side line Sourcing for another company as an independent consultant, while I'm at my full time consulting job, between being at the studio, and raising my daughter, so I'd love to put this in 3 other places but I might have a hard time keeping track.

I guess I can go post on the other spots with a link to this thread and leave it at that. As I already stated, I'll throw down up to $1000 or $1500 each, screens and pad sensors, but honestly, it will take me about a month or so to do that, and I want a list of 'orders' here first to know that a bunch are sold before I even do it. I need a fast return on the money. Just bought a new house, and am about to grab a new car, so my budget is about to be pretty tight :) already is... even tighter I guess.

Alright, here's the deal.....

$105 each for 10 or 12

I don't know how we're gonna handle this now, cause I don't have all the cheddar. That's $1050-1260 respectively.

Maybe we sit tight till I have the money......

Soon as my returns come in I'm adding that to the cash on hand and grabbin an HD 4 Setup.

That's priority, it can't wait, I now have work for a label. The work is dependant on me having HD, and the first launch is Tahira's album.

We're in pre-production now and it's HOT!!!!!!!!!!! But I have to grab HD or I'll lose the contract. Stupid, but that's the industry. Anyway, enough about that........

So........ I guess we have to sit tight until I can throw down the loochie....... Should get it out of the label pretty fast.

I will say tho, I am surprised the supplier will even run that short an amount, though I did guarantee/promise them larger runs in the near future ;)
