Triton sequence to MPC 200XL

If I made a track on a triton is ot possible to dump the sequence into my mpc by midi dump or sysex and feedback will be appreciated.

i use a a triton studio and a mpc2000xl together so i can help but what are you exactly are u trying to do (acomplich by this) give me a idea so i can give u the best way to go about it

The sequence was made completely on a triton save on a disk in the triton now I want to dump the sequence into the mpc so I can add more elements to it.

I think you can just save the .seq file as a midi file then put it on a disk, then put the disk in your mpc and load it....i think type 1 is what you want...check your manual. Its either type 1 or 2 midi file. One or the other saves separated track information.

But, im unsure if program information is saved. so you might have to re organize what programs you are using in .seq mode.

Program info (I take it you mean the seq setup) is NOT saved. Note data, time changes, CCs, and other standard MIDI data are saved in a .mid file.

In order to save the setup info, you'll need to either record a stream of sysex data into the MPC or load into triton from disk. (or save as a template in flash mem if you plan on using it more than once)

A slower but reliable option: Sync the two machines. Solo tracks on the Triton & record the midi data on the MPC. When I upgraded from an old Alesis MMT8 sequencer to the MPC2000 this was the only way I could transfer sequences.

I know when i control the triton from the mpc, i have to save a file from the mpc (midi) and a ".seq" file on the triton....using the .seq file as a setup for 16 part timberal. I.e. i control all the triton sounds from .seq mode.

So in actuallity, maybe you can just save a midi file to go to the mpc, then just save that same .seq file, and erase the midi data in it, just keeping the track paramaters. Then turn local control off, and midi clock to external (in global.) then make shure all the midi tracks correspond on the mpc.

Back your shit up though if you try this just in case!!!!

all those are good ideas but if u want to save time and work just midi your triton and mpc toghter and u still can add what u what with the mpc
