Do you guys think this is a good idea. The M3 is amazing, its all pro tools enchanced. When you move a fader on the M3 the fader in pro-tools moves. I'm gonna mess with the M3 more before making my decision but it seems to do everything the MPC 5k can do and more.

If that is what you believe you need....then go for it. But as far as being Pro Tools enhanced, any device that has MIDI will be able to control the faders in Pro Tools or any other DAW.

I've owned an M3, an XS6, and a Kurzweil PC3X.

The PC3X is the better keyboard. Makes the others seem like toys. Just my opinion.

Thanks for your replies and opinions guyz. I just can't do it. I can't part with my 5k. After hearing the creative art I composed on this beast, I would miss the hell out of it. I'm gonna try an save up and get it and keep my MPC. It is badass though, I've always been a keyboard guy too. I do feel like an idiot about it being PT enchanced. Yall are right, the freakin MPC is PT enchanced. I'm an idiot, excuse my ignorance ;) And thanks DLP, I'll check the PC3X out!

Don't take this the wrong way but you are going to eventually get rid of the 5k.
Just look at hjow many post you have made about should you get rid of it for _ _ _ _ _.
If the 5k was working for you those thoughts would ptobably never come up.

The MPC isn't for everyone and the 5k may even be the wrong MPC for your needs??

I guess my real point is asking peoples opinions is cool but you really should just go after what feels right to you.

Honestly the 4k is the only MPC I would use if I had to give up my other pieces and just use the MPC.

I've just always been that way. When something new comes out I want it. That's just me. I LOVE the 5k and will not be getting rid of it ANYTIME soon. I just need a good keyboard and I'll be straight. That's the whole reason I've made those posts. I was caught in between the 5k and the Triton for weeks and chose the 5k which I don't regret. I just need a dope keyboard to go with it. Thanks for the post and no I didn't take it the wrong way.
