FULL OSXL support - OS1 and OS2 no longer sold

So I can't even buy a password for OS2 anymore? WTF?! I have the shyt installed, I just never bought the password because I am still learning OS1.

Yep. Unless you already have passwords for OS1 and OS2, it's OS2XL or the highway now...JJ's a punk.

A quick look at the 1000 download page shows that they are still available...

Even if sales are slow on the 2500 I suppose he could stop supporting them, but still leave them available... ?

JJ must me losing his mind. He releases OS2XL for the 1000 and continues sellings all versions of JJ OS for the 1000. Then, he sh*t cans JJ OS for the 2500 before OS2XL for the 2500 has been relased. WTF?

i have supported JJ since i had an MPC1000, had both OS1 and OS2 installed in that muthafuka, and even helped with bug reports for OS2....

now i got my 2500 i bought OS1 to keep me going, and have OS2 installed but with no password...

now JJ is gonna try and charge $64 for the XL upgrade, and $113 for new users!!!!

like i said i've been down with JJ for quite a while, but i think this is overstepping the mark, things was cagey when he announced that he would increasing the price due to LESS demand in his product, thats right, cuz not enough people were coppin the OS his cashflow was suffering... i'm beginnin to think that this is all about the money for JJ. i personally think $113 for an OS that is basically OS2 with a few added extras is fukin scandelous.

and at the end of the day, cats are gonna read my post, ans say "naw JJ is making new features though" but at the end of the day what is basically happening is he is merging both OS1 and 2, if anything i think features will be lost cuz people use their machine in different ways.

also nobody knows how much time JJ actually has been putting into this, so its unfair for cats to say that he has been working non-stop, thats just bullshyt.

so now i wont get to use OS2.... i'm pissed. very fukin pissed.

I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out, but It seems like a rather sudden and awkward business move.

I never did get around to selling my MPC2500, after purchasing the MPC5000 (I may need to remove the 2.5K from it's box again and have a play!)

I have the latest registered versions of both OS1 and OS2 already installed on the 2.5K- does that mean I can install (and save) using XL without the need to buy a password.

I'm a bit surprised by this development - it seems like the 'choice' has been taken away - which was part of the appeal of OS1 and OS2 for all the katz who decided to support JJ.

However - purely from a technical level; I would like to have a play with this XL just to work through the OS features to see what it's capable of.

I've been meaning to cop OS2 for a while but was still learning OS1. Now I cant. Also I think I heard somewhere that you can't just flip between OS2XL and OS1 like you could with OS2. Don't you have to reinstall the akai os and then reinstall OS1 or something. That also sucks.

If OS2XL isn't that great, this could make the 1000 a much better option (unless he does the same to them).

JJ should put up OS1 and OS2 up again, even if they're not developed anymore. Let people CHOOSE instead of FORCING them to buy the XL if the want to have something more than the free one. Your account won't suffer from that.

and b, the only os i use is xl. as for the rest, i don't test them, i don't check for their updates, and i don't load them. it's none of my business.

Within 3 days of owning my 2500 I bought OS1 and OS2. I didnt waste time with the Akai OS or wait for JJ to bump the prices up.

Im fine with OS2. It does everything I need it to do... At this point I dont think I will be getting OS2XL
