Creating keygroups on the S900

Can someone please help? I am using the mpc 1000 and s900 midi. I don't know how to create keygroups on the S900. I have the manual, but its not too detailed.

if you use the default tone program, it'll start with just one keygroup.

press the edit program key

go to 03.keygroup

copy the keygroup a number of times (use the+ key)

go to 05 to assign different ranges to the keygroups, and to change the sample too.

before you assign samples you could save it and use it as a template.

Use the S950 manual, much better.

^^^But still not too in depth......Ive printed both out and compiled them into one manual.

Here is a good technique for beginners to the s900/s950:

Plug your sample source into the rec/p.b trigger on the front of the s900 and plug the mix out of the s9 into the rec ins on the MP. The audio signal will go through the ad/dc's in the s900 and you can get the "12-bit sound" without having to mess with keygroups. (***This is for the peeps who are too lazy to start programming the s9, or who want a basic picture of how the s9 will color the sample.***)

This method dont work. The s950 couln't be used as an insert FX. There is no processing or sound coloring done to the input signal.

The a/d converters will add color to the sound as well as lowering the sample rate to 12 bit...

Sorry, but I don't believe that.

Not true at all! If you want the sound of the s900/950- sample into it and stop being lazy
