what size of flash card yall using

im getting my mpc 1k tommorrow ngiht and im so happy, im jsut gonna use the stock cf till i buy a new one, i saw some on ebay, but what sizxe yall use and how much stuff can you fit on the 32mb included one?

you can fit a lot if you dump the factory sounds down to you computer, but in all honesty you need at least a 128. I have a 128 and a 256, but I have never really used the 128. Every time my card gets close to full, the stuff I dont' use I just dump it to the CPU then a CD-ROM for archiving

is it possible to use cards that are made for photo-cameras?

256MB with another on the way, so I can carry loads of programs at once. Projects just get backed up onto the computer when they start using too much space.

Definitely. Compact Flash is Compact flash....period. There are definitely certain brands the 1000 "likes" more than others, and I've seen a lot of trouble with certain cards, but everyone has had mixed results. One person will tell you the Sandisk cards work great, only to be followed up by a post that someone else has tried three different Sandisk cards and none would read. Same with all the brands. I have a Memorex 256 and it has always worked flawlessly, but YMMV.

I use a 128mb Sandisk its ok, i also have an Pny 128mb its better. I do the same bhunt.

I use the 32mb that came with my 1000 - I just archive folders on the CPU

just got my mpc last night but the guy i got it form didnt have the 32 mb card so i went and bought a 256 sandisk i havnet tried it yet tho.

i have just bought a 2.2gig mircodrive card it work off the cf-II interface. no probs.

I've got the 1gig kingston compact flash..so far so good

I just bought a Wal-Mart compact flash card(256)...still haven't had the time to test it out... actually, I havent't even opened it yet. Does anyone have any experience with Wal-Mart brand cards? I know Wal-Mart makes awsome sneakers...Winner's Choice 4Eva!!!!

god damn aren't the 1 gb cards like $250??

2.2gb CF microdrive....$149

I swear I have seen different speeds mentioned with cf cards. My viking 256 does seem slower than the akai 32 that came with the machine. Anyone?
