problem converting song 2 sequence

hey everyone.

i seem to have a problem with converting sequences to songs in song mode. at the moment the only way i can track out beats is if i make my song a single sequence, and sample itself in the record mode. ive done this succesfully with a few beats so far, but this track i did lately did not seem to work.

the problem was after i converted all the sequences in order into a song, and then played the big sequence, it would only play the first sequence and the rest would be silent. e.g.

if my song was
intro/verse/chorus/verse2/chorus
and i converted that to a sequence, when i play it, it will only play the intro, and the rest is silent. any ideas why this may be happening, and how i can remedy the problem without getting a computer/multitracker etc?

in that song particular i think every sequence had the same track arrangements apart from maybe two tracks. i.e. the kicks/snares/hats/bass/percussion were all on the the tracks within sequences, but i think i placed the melodies on different tracks.

DAAAAM. i lost my whole beat! something wrong with my mpc when it saves. it only ends up saving 1 sequence, all the others are deleted. i had to start the beat from scratch again

It may be the saving bug (reported), or it could be your CF. They do wear out.
Is your card fairly fresh?
Have you tried another card?

the cf card is basically brand new, but will buy another one to see if this fixes the problem

I just bought a new CF and it fixed almost all of my saving woes.
They are kind of expensive if you're sure thats not the problem, but you kind of need one that you know is good to compare.
I suggest to make sure its a sandisk and not an off brand. Not even a kingston. You can get a 4gig sandisk for about 20 USD from amazon these days, although if you really want reliability, I guess stick with a 2.

true thanks for that. i was just gonna ask which brands u recommend. i have a kingston now - i thought kingston was a good brand? anywho, ill try a sandisk. does the speed of the cf card actually matter when concerning mpcs?

Kingston is good mem, but from what I understand sandisk is the best CF for this machine. I think its actually recommended in the manual.
And YES, make sure to get the "15mbs" instead on the standard 10 or 8. I reckon its about at least half as much quicker.

I sure noticed a difference!
My 4gig 15mbs is twice as fast as my wore out 2gig standard.
