I want to connect my XS and my computer permanently to the mpc without going through a mixer.

Can I use the phono for a normal signal? Or can i buy an input expansion?

not want to be rude, but have you ever readed the manual???

phono is only for phono (clearly described in the manual)

1st thing i recommend is to read the newbie bible and the manual before hijacking us with these junk noob questions/threads

No, but they're widely available in a mixer format. Or you can pick up a 8x8 audio interface.

It sounds like you need to read some stuff over at http://www.tweakheadz.com as well.

Sometimes we don't intend on being mean, but after we suggest to you new guys as to what you should be getting, it's like you already got your minds made up and what we're saying is pretty much rubbish.

How do you think a lot of us got to where we are now? Get the 8x8 audio/midi interface if you're not going to use a mixer...simple as that.

Spend more time creating music rather than dealing with shortcomings/technical difficulties.

Hey Numan i have an xs 6 with mlan if you dont have that get that im not sure that what daw your using but i use logic the Mlan allows 16 channels of audio ialso have every output on the back of my mpc but i use the mlan and logic instruments or sometimes ill use audio from the motif and everything works fine read the motif manual like the early pages and it really simplifies things also check the motifator forum

hey duane what i want to do is record audio in the mpc, i want the motif sounds to be processed by the mpc converters/filters/effects.

Right now there is only one stereo input, and i dont want to use a mixer, as it colors the sound.

The mpc converters are pretty clean, as well as the xs's.

I know about mlan, i could use cubase ai4, yamaha own steinberg now, but i just want to work with audio right in the mpc.
