How is anybody supposed to take this seriously. Their whole advertisement is sh*tty low budget, that AKAI challenge was pretty stupid & the name itself is lame "Beatkangz" (REALLY???? you couldn't come up with something better than that?!) I also forgot to mention the fact that if you're going to advertise a product like this you better be sure to actually play some decent beats in the commercial, that background music was so stale I almost mistook it for a demo beat on something like an MPC 1000.

I like this thing in concept....I will keep an eye on it.

If you can get past the marketing, props to you. I think it's ignorant/boardline racist. I'm a white dude, though. Really though, i can't even say 80% of this stuff in public without being offensive, or atleast very ignorant (or just stupid). Maybe they will come out with a special, regular edition.

The thing that is very cool with the machine is how they use memory cards (if i'm correct) like a solid state harddrive to free up sample time like those mini laptops do to use less ram. This is something i never got that other companies have really yet to adapt to. It's such a common form of storage now, why not take advantage. I'm not sure i'm even correct on this but it sounds like it.

I will wait for a real review by and average person to pass judgment on the actual machine but the marketing is hard to swallow. I assume i would have to put a "lil" in front of my name regardless though.

Seriously, if it had normal looks, it would seem like a good product. I wouldn't get it, I already have samplers. But even if it would turn out to be the real thang to have, I could never let it in my house.

I hope they have made the option to delete ALL existing sounds/programs/sequences. In 5 years nobody cares for chop and screw anymore, so it's not wise to add to "up-to-date-modern" design/sounds whatever into something that'll last around a long time.

I'm pretty shure it will miss some basics, it's like much of the new equipment are lacking things we use everyday, and tho' its a competing product to the MPC I hope they have studied it and make shore a MPC-veteran would be satisfied.

This must be THE prank of the decade! The list of features on this machine is ridiculously similar to the crazy new features wishlists we see getting updated everyday in these forums. Even if this thing actually reaches production, I wouldn't expect it to be placed on the selves for less than $5000.

However, continuing this hilarious thread, how could you miss the 12bit engine of the 60? Or the warmth of the 3000? Or even make a keyboard version like the ASR-10?? Oh man...

Something about this Thang does not sit well with me. I'm not actually sure this thing is real because all we've seen so far are pictures and a light show. I haven't seen anyone touch it or turn it on for that matter. I do have to give them credit because they wanted to get us talking and they did exactly that. I'm going to have to be like doubting Thomas and say that I wont believe it until I touch it.

Gotta give these guys props though. Real beat makers creating a beat machine, thats like a bunch us getting together and inventing something we always wanted in our machines. Forget the marketing. I don't judge a book by its cover, its the content that I'm interested in.
