Problem

Alright homies I got this used 2000xl about a month ago. half the time it will turn on and everything is fine but it won't read my zip which im pretty sure i just need to install the most recent OS. but my main prob is the other half of the time it just turns on and the screen stays blank and all the lights stay on and nothing happens thusfore resulting in me not being able to fix the other problem. So any help that can offered will be much appreciated.

I'm not sure about the zip - is it internal, or an external zip drive? If it's external, you need to make sure the selection port on the back of your Iomega zip drive (I assume it's Iomega) matches with the port your MPC is setup to read on activation.

The problem when you start it up and all the lights stay on and the screen stays blank - that used to happen to me alot on my old 2k (not XL). I think it's quite common with the older MPCs. Possibly related to your zip drive problem, but I'm not sure.

Sorry dude. You just have to keep swithing yourr machine off and on until the problem sorts itself out.

It's an internal zip drive. but i've been just switchin it on and off and it usually eventually works but this time it hasn't and i've tried for about 4 days so who knows i'll hopefully figure something out
