whats up fellas,

I was wondering if any of you guys could help me with me setup. Here is my equipment: MPC 1000, Triton, Mo phatt sound module, m-audio 2496, m-audio 4x4 midi interface, and m-audio oxygen 8 midi controller keyboard. I make beats using the mpc as the sequencer for the hardware and some times I make beats using reason 4. I would like to know how to connect my equipment so that I don't have to redo my cables to switch back and forth and also be able to use reason as a sound module with the mpc.I also want to track my beats into protools mpower.I have my equipment setup but not sure how to steup my mpc with the midi interface. I have been playing with it but have not been able to get it going. Any insight would be appreciated.

You need a mixer or bigger (in terms of inputs) audio interface. Then it shouldn't be a problem for you hook'n it all up from that point.

Thanks for your input. I have I mixer. The issue is not with sound it is with the setup of midi with the interface. I have the midi setup but not using the interface. I understand the basic midi in to out But how would I to this using the midi interface.

Do you already have the s/w loaded for your midi interface? If so, just connect the 4 outs of the interface to the 4 ins on the different instruments/modules. Keep track of what goes where. Designate your keyboard controller & the mpc to occupy two of the four inputs on the midi interface.

Do whatever setting up & routing you have to do in the s/w matrix for the 4x4. If done correctly, you should be able to switch between the different ports and play that particular instrument/module. In most cases, you can save your matrix setups and pull 'em up when you need them.
