Hi all, hope someone can help soon.
I'm trying OF COURSE to synch my mpc2500 to pro tools. every post i've read says to go into midi/synch and change to midi time code and set a frame rate of 30. however, when i hit mode/and then pad 9(midi/synch) i only get synch in option and synch option. nothing else comes up. what i am doing wrong. is it possible i have bad midi cables that are reading the mbox2? having a tough time with this. Thanks, for any replies I can get.

What firmware version are you running?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by firmware. I have a regular mpc2500. An mbox2. pro tools and reason that i'm running off a mac with operating system 10.4tiger. is a specific firmware identifier somewhere on the mpc. The instructions on the digidesign forum and some of the topics here seem clear, but I'm having a frustrating time. Thanks, again.

I mean the Akai MPC2500 OS version. The MPC2500 didn't support MTC until OS 1.2.

You can download the latest OS from here: http://www.akaipro.com/contentmgr/showd ... /1115/tt/5

Or you can take the advice of this thread: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=107474 and download OS 1.23 here: http://www.mediafire.com/?jbag3i0jmbd

oh t7. apparently I no longer have the original memory card. when i reboot the mpc after following the instructinos of both updates 1.23 and 1.24 i get the error message 'wrong card!'.

Am I able to update the mpc some other way. paying for it or anything? can I purchase a memory card. or is there another workaround?

Thank you, so much for pointing me in the right direction. took a look at another thread and rebooted the mpc without holding down the windows key. it worked. I'm so happy! I really appreciate your help. now hopefully i figure out how to sync with pro tools/mbox2/reason/maudio keyboard tomorrow. if you have any thoughts on that I welcome them.

No MTC frame rate in JJOS? That can't be right. Maybe you are using MIDI Clock?
