The Copy works on other samples, it's if you leave the edit screen that the clip gets empied I think. Like I said, I have a bunch of nothing samples at .1 seconds and I copy from the sample I want and paste there. It works fine, but it is a bit slow, so I tend to just sample, trim, then sample again and trim the other part, then sample again. I find it is quicker and only do the copy when I need to or feel like it.

I used to do my chopping in Soundforge, but I really don't like the sound compared to the straight sampling in the 60. It sounds great, but I prefer the sound of the straight sampling, It might not be such a difference in the 3000.

I love using the 60 to trim samples, I love the process of sampling on it and laying out the kits and comparing different kicks and snares in little elimination rounds.

As for storage, I use Zips, I find them perfect for my needs, with Hard Drives I forget what the 3000 tops out at, I think 520 Megs, then you have to partition them so you don't go over the file limit.

Use whatever, I still think Zips keep you the most organized.

As for your memory, do you have 32 Megabytes or 16? I am not familiar with the 3000 numbers, but you'll need to make sure you have the 32 and that you are sampling in mono.

Seriously, that's a lot of sampling time either way.

for some reason i can not get me hard drive to work properly. 100mb zip. I get to the point of formattiing in 4 partitions ... it sayy it will take about 10 min... it starts... come backs sayin it failed, check disk or if hooked up properly. Inwhich it is. I've done this with 2 different zip drives and brand new zip disks.

can u or somebody tell me what could b wrong?

is it a true scsi zip? is it terminated? try more partitions, if it got through the format but not the partition process, it could be something there.
