I got an external card reader and it won't work on my 3000 . So I go back to the eBay page I got it from and all the way at the very bottom it says it won't work w/o 3.5 . .

I was planning on getting it anyways but I guess now it'll be sooner than I thought . Looks like you'll be getting some of my Christmas money Rohan  .

I finally got and installed my 3.50 ( :D ) and the MPC is working perfectly but this card reader still won't work w/ it . All that happens is all the lights come on and stay lit on the front . It's a Spyrus RD300 flash card reader . Anyone know what might be wrong ?

And on a side note : Rohan's the man . Epitome of a professional business person .

Already have it on . The weird thing about the drive is that when I unplug the scsi cable from the back of the MPC it starts up normally, the lights all light up for a sec and then all go off except for the power light . There's only four lights, one for the power, one that says error and one for each card slot .

Just got done trying it on 5 & 6 . I'm assuming I use scsi devices the same way I did w/ my 2K . Turn it on 1st, then my MP, right ? My zip drive works fine so it's not the MP . And I've tried different cables as well .

Yeah always remember this when you use external storage devices with the MPC it's Power On MPC Last & Power Off MPC first.

So your CF drive is hooked up to the MPC and turn the MPC on and it just hangs with the card reader hooked up and all the lights on the CF drive are lit up? and I am assuming there is a card in the reader?

But when you got DISK does it even have the option for format?

blown scsi fuse in the mp. that was my prob-sent to vst-i thought it was the disk drive but it wasn't-my scsi id is on 4.multi sector on-make active is on auto-bus reset is on-timeout is on 2

Yeah but he said his Zip Drive works when he hooks it up so it's not the SCSI Fuse.

/\ If you recall about 3 or 4 months ago somebody was having this same issue. The zip worked, but card reader wouldn't. I don't remember specifically what Rohan said, but it was something about the zip drive was able to compensate termination voltage that the mpc wasn't fully giving off, but the card readers didn't have something that allowed this. They fixed the scsi in the mpc and both worked.

EDIT- Found the thread.
