i'm not too worried about JJ fixing bugs for OS 2. hell, he's still occasionally releasing bugfixes for OS 1.

but are there still outstanding bugs for OS 2 ?
there's only 1 i can think of offhand, but it's pretty obscure and i haven't even reported it yet.

i've also encountered some weird bug recently with not being able to jump to a new screen from the TRACK MUTE screen without pressing MAIN first. but i never encountered this before installing OS 2XL, so i think maybe something got messed up from the install / downgrade.

OS2xl can normalize up to like 120% though.

thats an old issue, since OS1. but there are bugs in 16 levels. grid edit/qreal and probably more - as i keep finding 'em.

Also, I don't understand why nobody asks for the sequence moving. It is so useful to move the sequence without copying it and rename it!

....because JJ's put that into XL, theres no point adding XL features to OS2! hence the existence of XL.

Arebee-- I think you missed the point of this thread.

TOMA-- Fully agree on the sequence moving feature! And the way it works... so smooth, very impressive looking. The reason I bumped it off my final list of three, is that you can always copy and delete sequences, although slower of course. The three things I requested can't easily (or at all) be done in OS2.

the point is to get useful new features (that were originally requested for OS 2) into an OS that doesn't have crippled Q-LINKS, MIXER AUTOMATION, SIMULT PAD, LOOP EDIT, PATTERN EDIT, etc...

c'mon arebee... i know you use the q-links. you're aware of the problems in OS 2XL in this area.

yeah i see - and i love OS2 now more than any other incl. XL - but getting these features grafted into OS2 is essentially what XL is but with nasty trade offs, why not just stick to original/unique requests re:OS2, instead of asking OS2 to be fitted with XL features.

sorry i find it hard to explain, but they cant seem to keep the best features of OS2 in XL or they would have already, and in my opinion, it aint an XL OS at all - it really doesnt excel for me. too many tools i use - gone, and too many unusable ones in their place - for me.

so mbe just stick with OS2
